We had Hayzey's 10 month appointment this morning
and everything checked out ay-okay!
Our boy is now 22 lbs, 4 oz and measures at 29 inches long - still in the 50-75th percentile for both and Dr. Sabeti was very pleased with his growth, both physically and developmentally. As usual, he was all smiles, charming the pants off of the nurses and doctor and expressing his delight in his new favorite way, a very high-pitched squeal (which is absolutely adorable but needs to be curtailed or we're going to get VERY dirty looks from the general public every time we're out and about!).
We were given the go-ahead to give him basically whatever food we wanted, minus the 5 not-until-1-year-old foods (honey, peanuts, citrus, strawberries, egg whites), so we're going to try and introduce more human food and less purees, keeping in mind the fact that he hasn't shown any signs of teeth yet (we're told that can take up until 15 months)... Quite frankly, that doesn't seem to be slowing him down though - Nanna Susu said he had a whole piece of toast yesterday!
Our next appointment is on March 2nd, which will be for his 1 year (where's my baby gone!?) and we're told that won't be as pleasant of one as he'll have to get 3 shots and tested for anemia, which consists of a finger prick. Maybe since he'll be one year by then and all food restrictions will be lifted, a post doctor's appointment ice cream sundae will be in order ;-) Kidding!
Looking forward to a relaxed weekend at home with our boy. Grandma and Grandpa are babysitting tonight so we're off to see a new flick and try out Nancy Silverton's new burger joint, Short Order. Tomorrow, will consist of lots of assembling of new toys, strollers and play yards to keep our roaming animal safely contained (and I'm not talking about Greta Faye!).
Oh and the boy's 10 month pics are up so enjoy!
